What evidence in this lesson supports the idea that native americans were not opposed to early interactions with french settlers?

    The French trappers and hunters were not looking to take over the lands that the Natives were living on. During this time, they were more interested in running a profitable trade with the Natives than actually subjugating those who were already living there. This led to a friendly coexistence during the early colonization period.
