The holocaust is one of the most terrible things that had happened to the humanity. It was mostly focused on the Jewish population, though it has to mentioned that lot of Slavic people and Gypsies suffered in the same way. The Jewish population was decimated, millions of dead, millions more orphans, millions without anything left. Considering the long history of persecution of the Jewish people, the international community decided that it would be fair to give to this people a country on its own after all of the suffering. Some countries were agreeing with that, some not, but the ones that were prevailed, and the Jewish people were allowed to form a country of their own in their traditional homeland, thus Israel was formed along the coastline of the eastern part of the Mediterranean.
