Why did businesses move their factories to the south after 1960?

    Because in the South there was cheap labor and it was easier to control because there were laws that made unions weak.

    Businesses moved their factories to the south because of cheap land and labor. For example, car manufacturing used to be primarily based in Detroit. However, by moving their factories to the south and spreading them, it greatly benefited them more.
