How was the postwar government of Great Britain different from that of East Germany?

    After the Paris Peace Treaties of 1947, Germany was split between Western Germany and Eastern Germany. Eastern Germany will be controlled by the Soviet Union. The country was governed under a socialist model.

    On the other hand, Great Britain, which operated under a constitutional monarchy, adopted capitalism as their political philosophy. The government was supportive of laissez-faire economics and the function of the state as a regulator between participants in the economic system.
