What does the term Caesaropapism mean? Why is it important?

    The caesaropapism is when the governments powers are combined with the religious powers. Or it can also mean making the government's power superior to that of the church.

    Explanation:

    Basically it is concerned with the connection of the church with the government. It was important as the Church couldn't hold powers superior to the government and hence avoiding the influence it may cause.

    However, Byzantine leaders or ideologists denied imperial power over the church. The spiritual powers could't accept the government interference.
