President John Kennedy was known for his stance during the Cold War, that together with the USSR, a model should be sought to avoid a possible war and final destruction under accumulated nuclear weapons, which he said at his inaugural speech. Of course, as a convinced democrat, he supported people in Berlin and the problems caused by the Berlin Wall. So on June 26, 1963, he delivered a speech in front of the crowded mass of people in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, providing them with support in the search for freedom.
