The anti war movement of the 60's and 70's was made up of people who opposed D. U. S involvement in the Vietnam War.

The U. S. war in Vietnam caused the most determined movement against war in U. S. history, following the attacks on North Vietnam in 1964 and the installation of combat troops the year after. Over the next ten years, huge numbers of young people took part in a popular culture of war resistance which was mainly pacific, with strategies that included comical theatre to industrial sabotage. Students, labor unions, middle class families and more, were against the war, and eventually achieved their goal to end U. S combat operations in Vietnam by 1973.
