Spindletop's location was at the very top of a very rich source of oil, when discovered, produced from that first well more oil than was produced from all wells in the world. This rich source of oil make oil cheap, and it became a prime energy source for modern transportation, industry, and factories which makes it important on the economic development of texas and the united states.
