    Mary Beth Tinker in December, 1965, made a decision to wear black armbands to her school Des Moines Independent Community School District, Iowa, as a protest to the America's involvement in Vietnam War because of that, the school management made a plan to suspend any student caught wearing armbands as a sign of protest. Some students disobeyed and arrived the school with black armbands refusing to remove the hand bands and were suspended along side Mary Beth

    The 1969 Supreme Court delegated on the case of Tinker v. Des Moines and ruled in favour Of Mary Tinker on the grounds that that freedom of speech whether (verbal or expressions) must be protected in public schools as long as it does not not disturb the primary function of the school which is learning.
