Why were European countries unable to match Chinese porcelain's quality until the early 1700's?

The basic reason why the European countries were unable to match Chinese porcelain's quality until the early 1700s because of the lack of Kaolin clay. Kaolin clay is also known by the name of China clay. The Europeans also lacked the knowledge about the procedure of breaking down this clay for creating the best porcelain.
