Women were recruited for jobs vital to the war effort on the home front. Which is an obstacle they faced? There were not enough jobs available outside the home. Attitudes about the role of women in the workplace needed to change. The government did not support women joining the workforce in large numbers. Available jobs were limited to nursing, housekeeping, and clerical work.
