The final phases of the war in both Europe and the Pacific were very similar. In both fronts the aggressors were gradually losing territory that they have occupied, thus little by little being pushed back towards their own initial territory. On both fronts the armies of the aggressors were having more and more loses, and on both fronts it was a war when one country was fighting multiple allied countries, Japan fighting with the USA, Canada, and Australia in the Pacific, while Germany fighting with the Soviet Union, Kingdom of SHS, France, the United Kingdom, and USA. Both, Japan and Germany ended up being totally destroyed in a war on their own land, and both of them ended up as protectorates for some time.
