    The best answer is C. Capitalism and Socialism. Henry R. Luce, a founder of The Time Magazine, hoped the U. S would support Chiang Kai-shek, who was a Nationalist with Socialism ideals. Luce pleaded with President Truman and the U. S government to defend those against Communism or those against Capitalism. Even though Chiang Kai-shek lost, Luce still believed the U. S could fight Capitalism.
