Like the Spaniards, the Aztecs too left some scripts where they describe the Spaniards and their impression of them. The messengers that were sent by Montezuma tried to note everything, and the manner in which they did seemed like everything has terrified them, which is understandable considering that everything was new to them. They described the weapons of the Spaniards, their dogs, horses, that everything they had and wore was from iron, their physical appearance. In general, the manner in which everything is described is as they saw them as superior, possessing many things that they could not explain, and having animals that are also superior to theirs. Even Montezuma was filled with fear when he was reading and hearing what his messengers wrote and told him.
