    The federal government is divided into three branches which is aimed at separating the power of each arm in order to avoid any branch gaining too much power and becoming tyrannical. These are the Legislative arm, also referred to as Congress and is in charge of making laws. The executive which include the president and cabinet implements the law. The Judiciary evaluates the law
