    During the time of American Independence Thomas Paine published a pamphlet, whose title was Common Sense. It instantly became popular as it was easy to understand by the American colonials and they understood what needed to be done to get independence. It simply made colonialists understand more easily.

    He connected Independence with protestant beliefs to present a distinct identity of America. No one else before played an important role of moving American citizens from rebellious spirit to one of revolution.
