    James Madison was responsible for the bill of rights he wrote the first ten amendments

    1 amendment - freedom of speech, religion, the press, to petition, to peaceably assemble and etc.

    2 amendment - right to bare arms

    3 amendment - no quartering

    4 amendment - no unreasonable search and seizure

    5 amendment - right to remain silent

    6 amendment - right to an attorney or lawyer

    7 amendment - civil trial

    8 amendment - no cruel or unusual punishments

    9 amendment - listed certain rights, will not be deny to others retained by the people.

    10 amendment - rights not list belong to the people
