    Francisco Vázquez de Coronado was a Spanish explorer of the North American Southwest who led a team of 1100 Spaniards and Native Americans and was credited with the discovery of the Grand Canyon. He sought for the legendary Seven Golden Cities of Cíbola but never found it.
