The "Declaration of Human Rights", created by Jefferson and Washington, is based on the teachings of the philosopher John Locke, especially in sections such as:

The creation of three branches of government, Separation of church and state, Freedom of religion and all matters relating to Human rights.

    Explainations:

    J. Locke distinguished: the legislature as the publication of permanent laws - powers which she cannot pass to anyone's hands. The executive power of a state that can be called natural, forms the totality of the executive power of each in Natural state, transmitted as a result of the social contract to the political community. The federal power which has the right to war and peace, to participate in coalitions and alliances, to conduct all affairs outside this state.

Locke was a staunch supporter of the idea of dividing the church and the state. In his work "Rationality of Christianity," he describes the necessity of religious tolerance. Every citizen (with the exception of atheists and Catholics) is guaranteed freedom of religion.

John Locke considers religion not the basis of morality, but a means of strengthening it. Ideally, a person should be guided not by church dogmas, but by himself to come to a wide religious tolerance.
