The United States increased it's production of armoured tanks in WW2 because the german tanks were overwhelming and too superior.

The German tanks were so strong and superior during the world war2 while on the other hand the United States produced its tanks in large quantity but they were no match to their german counterparts because of their pretty low quality. It was rumoured that for the United States to match one German tank they needed half a dozen American vehicles to do that.
