    African Americans were denied the right to vote. Although this was not really stated anywhere, it was inevitable as what was considered necessary to vote was almost impossible for African Americans, as the grandfather clause was instated so that people could only vote if their ancestors had voted during the Civil War (African-Americans were banned from voting at the time) or their family owned property (this was impossible for African-Americans, as they were all descendants of slaves.)
