    He opposed booker t washington's view on racial discrimanation because washington believed the african americans would slowly prove themselves to the whites in the crafts of education in agricultural and industrial skills which would earn the white american's respect; whereas du bois believed that by being outspoken with protests for civil rights would earn more freedom for the african americans than slowly working for respect.
