    1. The people who are onboard the Mayflower are a mixture of religious separatists and people who want a better future in the New World. These people wanted to avoid the religious persecutions that are happening in their country, so they fled to the New Worlds.

    2. The compact was created by the English royals to avoid the saints and sinners to go against each other. The compact was made to assure that the people of the new colony will live with peace and in accordance of the doctrines and traditions of the English Empire.

    3. The English colony wanted to avoid dispute inside their territory.

    4. I think the answer is self-governance.
