Why did it turn violent during the homestead steel strike?

    Hi. I live across the river from Homestead PA! It was an industrial lockout and strike. They were trying to unionize steel workers, and there was a rebellion of sorts.

    The Pinkerton Agents started firing at workers and townspeople.
