The answer to this question would be C. The Mormon church caused resentment through the practice of polygamy.

Joseph Smith would be the reason why there is Mormon religion in the 1820s. It started in New York, where he instituted it. There came followers and also haters. It was laughed and made fun of. Since it caused trouble for him and his church, he had to move his people from time to time. Time came that he decided that Mormons can have more than one wife. This split the church. With this, the Mormon church caused resentment through the practice of polygamy. After sometime, the Mormon church rejected such idea. Smith was arrested, was put into jail, then was lynched. After his death, Brigham Young became its new leader and led the Mormons to Utah. Many things happened until dispute from the Mormons and the federal government arouse to heights that needed attention. James Buchanan ordered the U. S. military into Utah to suppress the Mormons.
