    The answer is Valley Forge. This was the military campground 18 miles (29 km) northwest of Philadelphia where the American Continental Armed forces spent the winter time of 1777-78 throughout the American Revolutionary War. Hunger, illness, undernourishment, and contact killed more than 2,500 American militaries by the end of February 1778.
