    In west-to-east order, the subsequent branchings were:Arapaho-Gros Ventre, Cree-Montagnais, Menominee, and Cheyenne; then the core Great Lakes languages: (Ojibwe-Potawatomi, Shawnee, Sauk-Fox-Kickapoo, and Miami-Illinois); and. finally, Proto-Eastern Algonquian.
