What do you believe were progressivism's most important success and biggest failure?

This is of course a somewhat subjective question, but most would agree that its biggest success was greatly limiting the amount of corruption in big business--usually through increasing government regulation--while its biggest failure was not continuing to do so throughout the 1900s
