Compare and contrast the reasons for the colonists to rebel against England with the south rebelling against the union

    The colonists rebelled against the crown due to taxation without representation, hence, the Boston Tea Party. The tea tax was being raised and the colonists threw tea off the sides of ships in Boston Harbor.

    As for a similar case when the South Seceeded from the Union, the South believed in slavery, where the North did not. When Southern States seceeded from the Union, this sparked the war to end slavery and reunite the Union.
