Describe the whiskey rebellion. and the government's action in response to it

The Whiskey Rebellion was over the federal government's tax on whiskey in the United States beginning in 1791. The federal government response was initially weak in that they did little to stop the persecution of the tax collectors, however soon Washington's administration called upon the armed militia to put down the protests.
