Was the treaty of versailles a direct cause of world war ii? Why or why not?

    It was and it wasn't.

    Explanation:

    The treaty caused a massive break down of the German military so as a part of Hitlers plan he raised a kinda army to get back but to also take over all of Europe which was his intial goal.
