What does the fifth ammendment guarantee?

The Fifth Amendment gives citizens many guarantees concerning criminal and civil legal proceedings. It gives the right to a due process; a right to a grand jury in criminal cases; it protects against self-incrimination; and it prohibits double-jeopardy. It also forbids taking private property for public use without a just compensation.
