Why might a neighborhood resident lose interest in participating in Neighborhood Watch or work with a community

policing program?

The resident is afraid that the criminals will target him for retribution if they are arrested.

The police did not respond when the resident attempted to report a problem.

It takes too much of a time commitment.

The resident believes that if the police want to reduce crime in the neighborhood, they should increase the number of officers on

patrol.
