It's a psychological phenomenon. There is no entirely discernible explanation, but we can assume that there is a scientific reason behind our actions. It can be a matter of upbringing that impacts your sense of morality. It might be a chemical component in the brain. It might be engrained into our society from years and years of what our ancestors did and what is acceptable. There are so many reasons behind our actions, but will there ever be a finite explanation to this? No.
