How do you write 3/8 - 1/6, 4/5 + 3/5, and 5/9 - 1/5 as a single fraction?

    You want to find a common denominator for each problem first.

    3/8-1/6=18/48-8/48=10/48=5/24

    4/5+3/5=7/5 or 1 and 2/5

    5/9-1/5=25/45-9/45=16/45
