    I would say did not pass

    passed vs did not pass

    the first one refers to if she took it or not which was assumed in the first statemtn

    the 2nd one is kind of in the midle, it isn't a negation, but it is a partial negatiion

    3rd is like the first, the statemtnet doesn't mention attendance

    4th is right, passed vs did not pass

    answer is Maria did not pass the English exam
