When the factors of a trinomial are (x-p) and (x-q) then the coefficient of the x - term in the trinomial is?

    (x-p) (x-q) = x^2 - qx-px+pq

    2 middle terms = - qx - px = x (-q-p)

    Coefficient of the x term is (-q-p)
