    A=LW, area equals the product of the length times the width, so we can say:

    W=A/L, we are told that A=45/4 and L=9/2 so:

    W = (45/4) / (9/2) ft

    W = (45/4) * (2/9) = 90/36 ft

    W=5/2 ft

    W=2.5 ft.

    Area = length * width

    45/4 = 9/2 * width

    width = (45/4) : (9/2)

    = 5/2 feet
