A student solved the equation 6s - 10 = 2 + 3s + s and got s = - 4. His work shown below is his check for this problem. Which statement best applies to the work shown?

    6s - 10 = 2 + 3s + s

    6s - 10 = 2 + 4s

    6s - 4s = 2 + 10

    2s = 12

    divide both sides by 2

    s = 6

    so his answer is wrong
