x = 3 / 4
y = 1 / 2
Step-by-step explanation:
6x + 5y = 7 (first equation)
2x + 3y = 3 (second equation)
Finding the value of x from the first equation
6x = 7 - 5y
x = 7 - 5y / 6 (third equation)
By applying the third equation in second equation
2 (7 - 5y / 6) + 3y = 3
14 - 10y / 6 + 3y = 3
14 - 10y / 6 + 18y / 6 = 3 (Taking LCM)
14 + 8y / 6 = 3
14 + 8y = 3 * 6 (when division passes from one side of the = sign, it becomes * )
14 + 8y = 18
8y = 4
y = 1 / 2 (fourth equation)
By applying fourth equation in second equation
6x + 5 / 2 = 7
12x + 5 / 2 = 7 (taking LCM)
12x + 5 = 14
12x = 9
x = 9 / 12
x = 3 / 4
therefore the value of x = 3 / 4 and value of y = 1 / 2
