What would you use as the given statement to prove the following Conditional?

X = 3 if - 2x = - 6

    X = 3 if - 2x = - 6, to prove the following Conditional we should use the "if-then statement"

    this says If A (hypothesis) then (conclusion)

    for example:

    if - 2x = - 6 (hypothesis), then x = 3 (conclusion).

    proof: - 2x = - 6 implies x = - 6 / - 2 = 3 therefore x = 3

    I would say that if - 2x = - 6 then the result would have to be x = 3 because - 2 x 3 = - 6.
