    The age of youngest brother is 26 years old

    Solution:

    Let the three consective even integers be x, x + 2 and x + 4

    Let the youngest brother age = x

    Let the oldest brother age = x + 4

    Let the another brother (middle one) age = x + 2

    Three times the age of the youngest brother exceeds the oldest brothers age by 48 years

    Therefore, we can frame a equation as:

    Three times age of the youngest brother = Age of oldest brother + 48

    three times x = x + 4 + 48

    3x = x + 4 + 48

    3x - x = 52

    2x = 52

    x = 26

    Thus the age of youngest brother is 26 years old
