It was estimated that the united states would need 6200 more veterinarians in 2012. The percent error was 10%. if the estimate was low, how many were actually needed

    To find this you must find what is 10% of 6200.

    In math, of = multiplication.

    So you multiply 10% and 6200. In order to do so, you must turn the percentage into a decimal or fraction. So 0.1 x 6200

    That should get you 620. However, that IS NOT your final answer, since 620 is only 10% of the total, not the amount needed.

    To get the actual amount of veterinarians, you subtract 620 from 6200, and should get 5580, the final answer.
