How do you do 1, 2 and 3?

1. y=9x + (-4x)

2. y = - 2x - 1

3. y = 5/9x

    If something is plus a negative (like + (-4x)) then you subtract. If something is minus a negative (like - (-3)) you add.

    1. y = 9x + (-4x)

    y = 5x

    not sure about the others, its been a fat minute since I was in 6th grade.
