    Answer: Budget has a better rate

    Step-by-step explanation:

    First we solve how much it cost to rent a car from Avis.

    Because it is $125 per day and he wants to rent the car for 4 days we solve:

    $125 x 4 = $500, then we need to find how much hes going to pay in miles.

    .30 X 140 = $42. So the total for the rental from Avis is $542.

    Do the same for Budget

    $115 x 4 = $460

    .25 x 140 = $35

    so the total is $495, this is less than $542.

    budget is cheeper

    Step-by-step explanation:

    avis = $500 for 4 days + $42 for 140 miles

    budget = $460 for 4 days + $35 for 140 miles

    so the totals are avis with $542 for 4 days and 140 miles and Budget with $495 for 4 days and 140 miles so budget is cheeper
