P/6 = 24/36
cross multiply
(P) (36) = (6) (24)
36P = 144
P = 144/36
P = 4
* * and notice this ... 4/6 = 24/36 ... proportions are nothing but equivalent fractions

P is 4 as 6 divide 36 is 6 so 6 divide 24 is 4 so
P=4
