F (x) = 5x-20 what value could be substituted for x to have a solution of 30

    It would be 10. How do i know? simple. If the solution is 30, add 20 to both side. makes 50 on one side, the answer, and cancels the other. then to get rid of the 5, divide both sides by 5. makes the answer x=10
