A box contains blue, red, and green pens. 25% of the pens are green and 35% are red. 48 blue pens cannot be used, but the remaining 40% of the blue pens are usable

How many blue pens are there?

How many pens are there altogether in the box

    Red: 35%

    green: 25%

    blue: 40%

    48 = 60% of the blue pens

    48/60*100 = 69.56 ≈70 blue pens

    70 = 40% of all the pens

    70/40*100 = 175 pens altogether
