Tim made 4 stacks of wooden blocks. The first stack was 4 blocks tall. The second stack was 6 blocks taller than the first. The third stack was 7 blocks shorter than the second stack, and the last stack was 5 blocks taller than the third stack. How many blocks did Tim use in all?

    Tim used 25 blocks.

    4 blocks for the first stack

    10 blocks for the second [6 blcoks taller]

    3 blocks for the third [7 blocks shorter]

    8 blocks for the fourth [5 blocks taller]

    4+10+3+8 = 25
