The elevation of city A is 96 feet below sea level; the elevation of city C is 25 feet below sea level. The elevation of city D is 1/4 of the elevation of city C.     City A: - 96 ft

    City C : - 25 ft

    City D: 1/4 city C = 1/4 (-25) = - 25/4 = - 6 1/4 ft

    City D is 6 1/4 ft below sea level

    Since City C is below sea level, City D will be below sea level, so its elevation will be negative
